Colour Theme

  • Have a pink and green colour theme to match the invitations and complement the overall theme.
  • Buy matching pink plastic party supplies and green plastic party supplies and alternate them as place settings. The best thing about these is that you can throw them away after the party which reduces the clean up.

Activities

  • Have a craft table where the kids can make princess crowns and frog masks. Provide colouring pencils, textas, glitter and sequins and let the kids decorate them. Download our free printable princess crown and our free printable frog mask. You can even have a competition with a prize for the best crown or mask.
  • Provide a box full of princess and the frog themed dress ups and host a fashion parade.
  • Have an adult dress up as a princess and tell a fairytale.
  • Play a princess and the frog themed pass the parcel game where the layers of the parcel are filled with glitter and sparkles, costume jewellery, freddo frogs and frog  or princess themed stickers or stationary.
  • Make themed cookies using princess cookie cutters, a crown cookie cutter or a frog cookie cutter, then let the kids decorate them with coloured icing, mini m&ms, and silver cachous.

Games

  • Play ‘Pin the Crown on the Princess’. If you don’t want to purchase the pre-made game, instead print an A3 picture of a princess or buy a Disney princess poster and also print pictures of crowns. Whoever pins (or blu-tacks) the crown closest to the top of the princess’ head wins.
  • Play musical statues: when the music stops the kids have to freeze in a position that looks like a crouching frog, or princess blowing a kiss.
  • Have leap frog races.
  • Play ‘Kiss the frog’. Either purchase the game, or make your own. A fun option is put red lipstick on the kids’ lips, blind fold them, spin them around and then get them to kiss a large picture of a frog. Whoever kisses closest to the frog’s mouth wins. If you want to avoid using lipstick, print some lips and play ‘pin the lips on the frog’.
  • Play ‘Musical Lily pads’. Print and cut out several copies of a lily pad picture and stick them on the floor or on the seats of chairs. The game follows the same rules as musical chairs, however when the music stops the kids need to stand or sit on a lily pad rather than a chair.

Cake

  • Buy some cute princess cupcake toppers and princess cupcake wrappers and make a fun cupcake display using a princess cupcake display stand. Alternatively, if you don’t want to buy cupcake toppers, just glue small printed princess clipart images onto toothpicks and stick them into the top of the cupcakes.
  • Buy some fun frog cupcake toppers and add them to the top of any cupcakes. The easiest solution is to purchase a frog cupcake kit which comes with everything you need.
  • Make cupcakes that look like frog faces. You can get ideas by searching ‘frog cupcakes’ on the internet.
  • Make a lily pad cake. Use a round cake tin and cut out a slice to make it look like a lily pad. Again, search for ‘lily pad cake’ on the internet to get some ideas.
  • Make (or buy) a princess castle cake. You can buy a princess cake tin to make this easy.
  • Make a fun crown shaped cake.
  • Make (or buy) a frog shaped cake. You can also buy a frog cake tin to give you the basic frog shape, so all you have to do is decorate with green icing and some lollies for the eyes.
  • Make an ordinary cake but add pink or green food colouring to the cake mixture before baking, as well as to the icing.
